The Olympic Nike Air Jordan 7 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and worn by Michael Jordan during the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona when he led the ‘Dream Team’ to Gold. In 2004 Nike returned to the Air Jordan 7 in celebration of the Athens Summer Olympic Games. The four Team USA players who donned player-exclusive retro versions were Carmelo Anthony, Michael Finley, Jason Kidd, and Ray Allen. Each of these four players had personalized embroidery on the lateral sides of both the right and left heels. Carmelo Anthony’s pair has “Melo” on both heels. These shoes were never released to the public. The Olympic-inspired colorway consists of white leather perforated uppers with metallic silver overlays and midnight navy tongues with red interior lining. The Air Jordan logo and Jumpman motif are embroidered in golden yellow thread. The soles feature pops of navy, red, and gold. The heel features the number "9", after the original 1992 Air Jordan 7, and in homage to Michael Jordan’s jersey number. The shoes are size 15.
